Artist’s Statement
I have been singing since I could walk, and know through a lifetime of experience that music can reach across barriers to create understanding, empathy and connection. So, when I sit down to write a song, my goal is to tell a story or share an experience that might resonate with those who hear it. This CD includes ten original songs that look back on love in my life: love of parents, children and partners; love of music and dancing; love that I aspired to find and love that could not be sustained. My hope is that at least some of the lyrics and melodies will be not only pleasing and entertaining, but will spark a memory or a conversation and continue the musical tradition of building community.
